NATO DEEP Georgia – ADL Capacity Building Update (September 2025)

In September 2025, the online workshop “Designing Educational Materials for Synchronous and Asynchronous Study” was conducted for representatives of the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia. Delivered by NATO DEEP eAcademy SMEs, the session offered valuable perspectives and practical methods for advancing contemporary teaching practices.

The workshop successfully met its main objectives. Participants deepened their understanding of the fundamental distinctions between synchronous and asynchronous learning formats and examined effective pedagogical strategies for addressing diverse learner requirements. A key focus was on structuring educational content into clear, modular units to increase accessibility and ensure clarity across different delivery methods.

Furthermore, the training highlighted techniques for designing interactive and engaging study materials, making use of multimedia resources to strengthen learner involvement. Emphasis was placed on combining visual and textual components to support understanding and maintain attention. Participants also explored assessment approaches tailored to each learning modality. Overall, the event provided an immersive, practice-oriented experience, equipping attendees with concrete tools to enrich their teaching in both synchronous and asynchronous environments.
