On 23-25 October, another NATO DEEP Iraq ADL event took place. From the NATO DEEP side, 2 LMS ILIAS Experts conducted workshops: Vitalijs Slendins and Giorgi Kokhreidze. The workshop was designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively administer and use the ILIAS learning management system. The course covered topics such as user management, course creation and management, content organization, and system configuration. Participants learned how to set up and customize ILIAS according to their organization’s needs, as well as how to troubleshoot common issues. Twenty-one participants from Iraqi’s military institutions were familiarized with the following topics: (1) grasping the distinct features of the ILIAS Learning Management System (LMS), (2) managing users, (3) creating and overseeing courses, (4) structuring content, and (5) problem-solving. Throughout the workshop, the participants acquired a comprehensive understanding of the ILIAS LMS, including its attributes and functions. They also gained the skills to efficiently oversee user accounts, allocate roles and permissions, and handle user groups. Furthermore, the participants were equipped with the knowledge to generate and administer courses within ILIAS, encompassing the organization of course materials, configuring assessments and assignments, and monitoring learner progress. Additionally, they learned how to arrange and format content in ILIAS, covering the creation of folders, file uploads, and the management of multimedia resources. Lastly, the participants honed their abilities in recognizing and addressing common issues that might crop up within ILIAS, such as user access difficulties, content display glitches, or technical errors. Next activities dedicated to the ADL capacity building for Iraqi partners will follow.
