On 5 August 2026, the second meeting of the Spanish-language edition of the Online Teaching Fundamentals Course for Colombian participants was completed. The session focused on two main elements: deepening participants’ knowledge gained through the asynchronous online modules and providing space to discuss and answer their questions.
The meeting focused on the introduction to online teaching and e-learning, including Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL), synchronous and asynchronous learning, and blended learning approaches. Participants also explored practical questions related to maintaining instructor presence in large online courses, encouraging preparation in a flipped classroom, making effective use of an LMS beyond grading, integrating face-to-face and virtual learning, designing effective self-paced learning, selecting activities for synchronous and asynchronous environments, and balancing engaging multimedia with cognitive load.
The discussion-based format allowed participants to connect the concepts introduced in the online modules with practical challenges from their own teaching environments.
