On 14 and 21 October 2026, participants of the Online Teaching Fundamentals Course (OTFC) Colombia completed the Multimedia in Online Teaching module, exploring the use of podcasts and video recordings to support online learning.
The first session, held on 14 October, focused on podcasting and working with the voice. Participants explored how audio content can communicate educational messages and make learning materials accessible on demand. The presentation addressed the preparation of a podcast, including organising content and using pace to maintain listeners’ attention.
The second session, held on 21 October, focused on recording and editing videos for online teaching. Participants explored the main stages of video production, from preparing content and setting up a recording to editing the final material. Attention was given to recording choices that make editing easier, as well as reviewing videos from the learner’s perspective to ensure that the message is clear and easy to follow.
Together, the two sessions encouraged participants to make purposeful choices about multimedia and consider how audio and video can support their teaching objectives.
