From December 9 to 12, 2024, NATO DEEP eAcademy Subject Matter Experts conducted an online workshop, to meet the needs formulated by the Iraqi Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Center leadership, as an important step forward on the way to the ADL system solution within the Iraqi Armed Forces. The event gathered 35 participants from 31 Higher Military Education System (HMES) institutions. During the workshop, participants covered essential aspects of ILIAS learning management system (LMS) administration, including user and course management, content organization, system configuration, and customization of the LMS interface. They were also trained on security and data privacy standards and techniques for troubleshooting common issues to ensure uninterrupted work of the system. By the end of the workshop, participants had developed a comprehensive understanding of ILIAS’s features and functionalities, enabling them to optimize the platform for their needs. The training enhanced participants’ technical capabilities and provided valuable opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange among the Iraqi HMES community.
