From March 21 to 23, 2025, NATO DEEP eAcademy successfully conducted a three-day online workshop tailored for NATO DEEP GEO participants from four HME institutions. With the expertise of eAcademy’s Subject Matter Experts, the event focused on equipping educators with the necessary skills to enhance virtual learning experiences through BigBlueButton (BBB).

The primary aim of this workshop was to (1) Provide hands-on training on BigBlueButton for effective virtual education; (2) Enhance interactive teaching strategies to increase engagement in online learning; and (3) Improve communication effectiveness in digital education environments.

Participants engaged in an interactive learning experience, benefiting from expert guidance and collaborative discussions. The workshop covered practical aspects of using BBB, including breakout rooms, real-time collaboration tools, and interactive presentation techniques. The training also emphasized best practices in online teaching, fostering an engaging and productive virtual classroom.

Day 3 of the workshop culminated in project presentations, where participants applied their newly acquired skills in a practical setting. These presentations demonstrated the effective use of BBB, reinforcing the knowledge gained throughout the training.

Beyond skill development, this workshop laid the foundation for ongoing discussions and future decisions regarding the implementation of BigBlueButton within Georgian PME. The collaborative efforts and insights shared during the event will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online education initiatives in line with the NATO DEEP programme mission, accordingly.
