The online workshop “Designing Educational Materials for Synchronous and Asynchronous Study” was held in December 2024 for participants from the David Aghmashenebeli National Defence Academy of Georgia. Delivered by NATO DEEP eAcademy SMEs, the event provided insights and practical strategies for modern teaching approaches.
The key objectives of the workshop were achieved. Participants gained an understanding of the key differences between synchronous and asynchronous learning modalities and explored effective pedagogical approaches to address diverse learner needs. The training focused on structuring content into clear, modular units to enhance accessibility and ease of understanding across various formats.
Additionally, the workshop demonstrated how to create engaging and interactive educational materials by integrating multimedia tools and techniques to foster learner participation. Special attention was given to incorporating visual and textual elements to support comprehension and improve learner engagement. Participants also examined assessment methods tailored specifically to synchronous and asynchronous study environments. Overall, the workshop provided a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience, equipping participants with practical tools and skills to enhance their teaching strategies in both modalities.
