NATO DEEP ARM ADL capacity building – update

The NATO DEEP eAcademy delivered the second edition of the “Advanced Content Creation” workshop in Yerevan, Armenia, from May 26 to 30, 2025. The event gathered participants from six Armenian Professional Military Education (PME) institutions for an intensive programme focused on advancing digital education capabilities in military and academic contexts.

Building on the foundation of the first edition, the workshop introduced participants to advanced functionalities of key ADL tools—BigBlueButton, Canva, ChatGPT, Audacity, and Shotcut. Through a structured and hands-on approach, participants developed digital modules in Armenian tailored for Learning Management Systems such as ILIAS or Moodle, aligning with the growing demand for high-quality online professional military education content.

Key focus areas included (1) Interactive learning via advanced BigBlueButton features; (2) Visual design with Canva; (3) Personalized content creation using ChatGPT; (4) Audio production with Audacity; (5) Video editing and effects using Shotcut.

The workshop emphasized instructional design methodology, script writing, multimedia integration, and the use of AI to support and enhance content development. Participants were encouraged to experiment with innovative teaching approaches and apply practical strategies for learner engagement.

It also fostered cross-institutional training and cooperation, strengthening overall PME ADL capabilities across Armenia. By facilitating collaboration and knowledge exchange among the participating institutions, the workshop contributed to building a sustainable and modernized digital education ecosystem within the Armenian defence education community.
