From November 30th to December 4th, 2024, NATO DEEP eAcademy hosted online workshops aimed at introducing Armenian military instructors to the latest educational technologies. The event focused on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) in military training.
The workshops aimed not only to introduce participants to new educational technologies but also to help them adapt these tools to the real needs of the Armenian military education system. Participants had the opportunity to learn the theoretical foundations of VR, AR, and AI, as well as engage in practical exercises that allowed them to develop lesson plans incorporating these technologies.
The workshop program covered the following topics:
- Using VR and AR in military education
- Applying Artificial Intelligence in military education
- Creating multimedia educational materials
- Practical exercises in developing training materials using AI tools
The workshops were a great success, providing participants not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills in designing courses and lessons using modern technologies. Participants showed a strong interest in integrating AI, VR, and AR into their teaching programs, especially in areas like operational simulations and leadership training. At the end of the workshops, participants developed individual lesson plans incorporating VR and AR, demonstrating their ability to create modern and engaging educational materials. The workshops also served as an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange experiences and establish contacts with representatives of the NATO DEEP eAcademy, which opens new opportunities for collaboration and development in the field of advanced educational technologies.
The “Introduction to new technologies in military education” workshops were a significant step towards modernizing military education in Armenia. By applying AI, VR, and AR, participants gained knowledge and skills that will allow them to introduce innovative solutions in their military schools. The training, which combined theory with practice, proved to be an invaluable tool in enhancing educational potential in Armenia.
