In Episode 27 of DEEP Dive, Dr. Sajjan Gohel speaks with Phil Gurski, the President and CEO of Borealis Threat and Risk Consulting. Phil worked as a senior strategic analyst at the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) specialising in Al Qaeda and ISIS-inspired violent extremism and radicalisation. Prior to that Phil served as a senior multilingual analyst at the Communications Security Establishment. He was also a senior special advisor in the National Security Directorate at Public Safety Canada. Phil is the author of several books including The Threat from Within: Recognizing Al Qaeda-inspired Radicalization and Terrorism in the West and Western Foreign Fighters: the threat to homeland and international security.
