The Computer Adaptive Language Testing (CALT) project enters the final implementation phase. During the coordination meetings, held in November, December, and January, the items received from participating nations were analyzed – for quality and cohesion with the test specification. The following countries have recently enriched the CALT database: France and USA – 19 listening and 36 reading items provided, Georgia – 15 listening and 15 reading items provided, Croatia / Estonia / Latvia Team – 4 listening and 4 reading items provided, Bulgaria – 20 reading items provided. Also, CALT piloting was conducted with military students, to gather statistics on item performance. Based on planned, further consultations with international partners, the steps to implementation of complete CALT solution are as follows: (1) finalize the selection of items based on analysis of pilot test statistics, (2) complete software integration and confirmation of items functionality, (3) prepare items for operational implementation and use on “Listening and Reading Level 3”, (4) final piloting phase of new listening and reading items, (5) final piloting phase software system with UKR participants. The CALT solution is due to be implemented in the NATO DEEP ADL Portal and available for the NATO DEEP partners later this year.
