Representatives from NATO Allies and partners convened in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, for the 14th edition of the Clearing House on Defence Education. The undertaking gathered participants representing 24 countries and 74 institutions involved in NATO’s Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP). The three-day event served as a forum to exchange views on ongoing and future cooperation in defence education, with a particular emphasis on aligning professional military education with NATO standards and best practices. The agenda included sessions highlighting the academic needs and ongoing efforts in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ukraine. On the second day, further sessions focused on DEEP cooperation with countries from North Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Central Asia. Several discussions also addressed challenges related to faculty development, quality assurance, and non-commissioned officer (NCO) education. The Clearing House concluded with joint meetings of the PfPC’s Education Development Working Group and the DEEP NCO Development Group. The Clearing House also featured participants from the NATO DEEP eAcademy. Their presence reflected the continued integration of digital tools and learning methods in defence education efforts.
