The Anti-terrorist congress features NATO DEEP eAcademy participants

On February 28 – March 1, 2023, the first anti-terrorist congress “Anti-terrorist and counter-terrorist activities. In search of good practices” took place. The venue was the Cardinal Wyszyński University in Warsaw, and the event gathered over 250 participants.The Congress was dedicated to representatives of government and local government administration, police officers, special services and other public security institutions, soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, police and military special forces operators, rescue sector officers, security and technical security employees, security managers in public buildings and key facilities for state security, scientists, experts, and students.Thematic areas: (1) terrorism and terrorist attacks, (2) anti-terrorist and counter-terrorist activities – theoretical and practical aspects, (3) legal basis for anti-terrorist activities, (4) institutional dimension of anti-terrorist activities, (5) prevention and preparation in anti-terrorist activities (6) response and recovery in anti-terrorist activities.The congress featured Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, Ph.D. (NATO DEEP eAcademy Director) delivered the key-note speech: “How to share counterterrorism awareness? NATO DEEP eAcademy best practices and recommendations based on DEEP Dive and e-CTRC solutions”. He referred to the international initiatives and projects of the NATO DEEP program, including the DEEP Dive podcast series on counterterrorism and an interactive e-learning course developed based on NATO’s Counterterrorism Reference Curriculum (CTRC). In addition, the congress participants included representatives of Polish entities cooperating with the NATO DEEP eAcademy in the field of implementing VR technology for the education and training: Jaroslaw Tokarczyk (Polish Association for Security) https://bezpiecznie.expert/en/homepage-english/), Dr. Karol Jędrasiak (WSB University, Dabrowa Gornicza https://wsb.edu.pl/en). Also, Katarzyna Kulla, NATO DEEP eAcademy PR Coordinator, was present.
