On August 19-25, the NATO DEEP Iraq ADL workshop was held in Olsztyn, Poland. It was dedicated to improving digital competencies and addressed to the representatives of the Iraqi Armed Forces, representing the key entities of the higher military education system.
The Iraqi institutions that took place in the event were:
- Defence University for Military Studies – DUFMS
- Military College
- War College
- Defence Language Institute
- Medical School
- Ministerial Training and Development Center
The aim of the workshop was to acquire the skills and ability to create interactive e-learning content. The main tool was the Iraqi eLearning Portal. Participants also used different applications such as Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), Articulate 360 and SCORM Editor. During their stay in Olsztyn, the Iraqi officers met with the authorities of the Polish Association for Security (the official host of this event), as well as with the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn – Assoc. Prof. Jerzy Przyborowski, PhD. On August 24, during the closing ceremony, all participants received certificates of completion or recognition. It is worth emphasizing that the group of NATO DEEP SMEs included experts from Georgia, Latvia, and Poland, while the Iraqi guests were accompanied by representatives of the NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) from the Kingdom of Netherlands and North Macedonia.
