From October 30 to November 1, the final ADL online event was successfully conducted, as far as the NATO DEEP Iraq programme is concerned. The activity involved 25 participants from Iraqi military institutions. The sessions were conducted by Vitalijs Slendins and Giorgi Kokhreidze – NATO DEEP eAcademy LMS ILIAS Experts. The event’s primary focus was on the administration of the LMS ILIAS. The workshop’s objective was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for effectively managing and utilizing the ILIAS learning management system. The curriculum covered various areas, including user management, system configuration, and much more. Participants acquired the ability to configure and customize ILIAS according to their organization’s specific requirements, as well as troubleshoot common issues. The participants were introduced to the following subjects: (1) Understanding the unique characteristics of LMS ILIAS, (2) Advanced ILIAS configuration, (3) ILIAS best practices, and (4) Troubleshooting. Throughout the workshop, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the ILIAS learning management system, its features, and its functionalities. They also learned how to make advanced configurations and settings within ILIAS, enabling them to tailor the platform to meet their organization’s distinct needs. Participants developed skills in identifying and resolving common issues that might arise in ILIAS, ensuring a seamless user experience. Finally, participants had the opportunity to connect with other ILIAS administrators, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing within the ILIAS community.

Further activities aimed at enhancing the ADL capacity of Iraqi partners are scheduled for 2024, also involving in-person training sessions.
