Social Media and VR in education/society is NATO DEEP eAcademy’s is an online workshop for instructors and teachers who wants to be updated with technologies that are impacting work in education. During this 2-week workshop, we are covering the impact of Social Media and Virtual Reality on education and in the broader perspective on society. During the first week, we are focusing on Social Media platforms, we look closer at their evolution, features, and how they can be used in education for teaching and learning but also personal branding. Throughout online meetings, we are presenting the threats and opportunities that are coming from using social media. The workshop is an opportunity to discuss the place of Social Media in the military environment. The second week, with 2 online meetings and one day dedicated to working on the LMS ILIAS platform will focus on Virtual Reality the technology that can be placed between theory and practice. During this part of the workshop, SMEs will share best practices for using Virtual Reality in education and discuss possibilities of using VR solutions in the military environment.
