On 21–22 May 2026, the International Scientific Conference “Modern Warfare: Humanitarian Aspect” was organized by Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University. The event brought together military and academic representatives, as well as international experts, to discuss the humanitarian, social, psychological, and educational aspects of modern warfare. Danuta Pietraszkiewicz, Deputy Director of NATO DEEP eAcademy, took part in the conference and delivered welcoming remarks. She emphasized the importance of international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and modern defence education in responding to current security challenges.
The programme included presentations on the Russian war in Ukraine, leadership in the armed forces, the use of information technologies and artificial intelligence in military education, military history as an element of national resilience, and historical education as a tool for strengthening cognitive sovereignty. Participants also discussed the situation of Ukrainian civilians in the context of war, gender integration in the security sector, and the psychological dimensions of resilience. A masterclass on developing the resilience of service members in wartime conditions presented practical tools and recommendations.
The conference provided a valuable platform for international dialogue on the humanitarian aspects of modern warfare. The participation of the DEEP eAcademy representative underlined the importance of educational cooperation and support for military and academic institutions in today’s changing security environment.
