NATO DEEP eAcademy continues the way towards VR solutions!

Following the recommendations of the “NATO DEEP Strategy for Distance Learning Support”, the NATO DEEP eAcademy is focused on testing VR products available on the market, while identifying possible partners, as far as the development of VR in-house products is concerned. Of special importance are the events related to the cooperation of the entities interested in joint projects and complex solutions. The latest example is the NATO DEEP event conducted on 24-29 October 2022 in two locations: Elk and Olsztyn (Poland). Three participants from the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Cherniakovsky from Kyiv, chaired by Col. Prof. Vasyl Osodlo, chief of the Humanitarian Institute, took part. The NATO DEEP Team was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, PhD. The agenda involved i.e., VR activities, presentations, and discussions. During the practical part, various aspects related to the practical implementation/ utility of VR technology were demonstrated. Such areas were covered as: education and training, systems focused on security and cybersecurity, medical simulations, and rehabilitation. The UKR participants were also able to learn more about the principles of 3D scanning. This undertaking was organized within the frames of the cooperation involving the NATO DEEP eAcademy, the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (Elk Branch Campus), and the Polish Security Association, as the NATO DEEP Partner Institution (NGO). During the event, the UKR participants met also with the President of the City of Elk (26 October), the Dean, faculty members, and students of the Humanitarian Faculty of the UWM (27 October), and the leadership of the Polish Security Association (27 October). The certificates of completion were also handed out.
