The NATO DEEP eAcademy organised the eLearning IT System Workshop (LMS ILIAS + BigBlueButton) in Olsztyn, Poland, on 8–14 March 2026. The activity brought together six representatives from Azerbaijani institutions, supported by two NATO DEEP eAcademy experts, to strengthen technical competencies in the deployment and administration of Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) systems.
During the workshop, participants received hands-on training in installing, configuring, and administering the ILIAS Learning Management System, covering server architecture, system updates, security, user and permission management, and course environment design. The programme also covered the deployment of BigBlueButton, focusing on virtual classroom architecture, server setup, customization, and the management of live online learning sessions.
The workshop provided Azerbaijani participants with practical experience in developing and managing a digital learning ecosystem that combines an LMS with synchronous learning tools. The activity contributes to strengthening national ADL capabilities and supports broader efforts to enhance digital learning infrastructure within the Azerbaijani defence education system.
