NATO Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) conducted, on 15-19 May 2023, its annual programme review with Ukraine. The LITPOLUKRBRIG, located in Lublin, hosted this event. The meeting gathered 11 Allied experts and 36 Ukrainian representatives from the entities of the UKR Higher Military Education System (HMES): NDUU in Kyiv, Lviv Land Forces Academy, Kharkiv Tank Institute, Odessa Academy, Zhytomyr Military Institute, Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko University, Odessa Naval Institute, Kharkiv Air Force University, Military Institute of Telecommunication. Also, all pre-commissioning schools: from Lviv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr plus NCO Training Centers were involved. On the last day, the meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, and the Director of MOD Military Education Department Mr. Volodymyr Mirnenko took place. LTG Pavliuk said: “Fast-tracking reforms of military education will be a significant contribution to our victory over the Russian aggressor”. The requests formulated by the UKR entities will be discussed and coordinated during the upcoming Clearing House conference, scheduled for June in Bled (Slovenia).
