Community testing of the AI-assisted live interpretation solution for BigBlueButton is continuing, with more languages and test scenarios now being added.
At the moment, dedicated groups of testers are working with English, Arabic, Georgian, Ukrainian and Spanish. They are testing different language pairs and different ways of using the interpretation functions during online sessions. This helps us check not only how the translation performs, but also how the whole solution works from the participant’s point of view.
The testing is gradually expanding. Next week, a Mongolian-language group will begin its work, and further languages will be included in the next stages. Working with separate language groups gives us a better picture of the issues that may appear in different linguistic and meeting scenarios.
The feedback collected so far has already resulted in practical changes. Based on observations from the first test sessions, we have deployed a new version of the plugin with improvements to both the user interface and the overall user experience. Some of the changes are aimed at making the interpretation functions easier to understand and use during a live meeting.
Testing will continue over the coming weeks. The feedback from participants will be used to improve the plugin further and to prepare the solution for wider use in multilingual online classes, workshops and meetings.
