09-11 May 2023, the 52nd Conference of Commandants was held in Tallinn, Estonia. The main topic of the second day was “ADL in times of war”, and the NATO DEEP eAcademy representatives were actively involved.
The opening lecture of the day was given by Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, Director of the NATO DEEP eAcademy on “Online or In-Person? Context is the King of Learning! NATO DEEP e-Academy Lessons Learned and Recommendations”. The speaker explained the essence of the NATO DEEP eAcademy programme, and also highlighted his motto that “teachers will not and should not be replaced by e-learning platforms. But those who do not use those platforms, will be driven out by those who are creatively using them”.
Later, Karol Jędrasiak, Ph.D., from WSB University in Dabrowa Gornicza (Poland) and NATO DEEP eAcademy VR Coordinator, gave a lecture on “Virtual Reality – How to Introduce the KISS Approach Within the Military Education and Training Environment”. His speech was followed by a demonstration focusing on “Practical Use of VR Technologies” and Mr. Artur Dobkowski, NATO DEEP eAcademy VR Expert was also involved.
There were also two more lectures on this day. The first one was delivered by Colonel Maksym Tyshchenko, Ph.D. (National Defence University of Ukraine – NDUU), and the second one by Mr. Geir Belgen Isaksen (Norwegian Defence University College – NDUC).
