In the past few years, NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) and NATO DEEP eAcademy have been working together to produce a viable solution to allow the Iraqis to access e-learning content. As a result of this collaboration, a lot of customization of the Iraqi e-Learning Portal (IeLP) has been conducted. Today, as a part of continuous improvement of the portal, the eAcademy started testing a newly released plugin, which solves several challenges connected to using Right to Left (RTL) languages such as Arabic. The development of the plugin has been coordinated by eAcademy and funded by NATO DEEP, and offers the following improvements for the LMS ILIAS e-learning platform:
• the main logo is not flipped
• breadcrumbs direction from right to left
• fix search and user submenu position in the top bar
• fix the main menu button size and alignment
• fix primary submenu spacing and arrow orientations
• images on the page content are not flipped
• keep RTL alignment for Arabic pages despite the user language (the layout the direction will still reflect the user language)
• font size improved for Arabic
• login page LTR for Arabic
The plugin is expected to become officially part of the portal on 15th of January 2023.
