NATO DEEP eAcademy on the horizon

On the 10th of December, during the meeting of the NATO Partnership and Cooperative Security Committee (PCSC), an initiative was introduced, to launch a new entity: the NATO Defence Education Enhancement Program eAcademy (NATO DEEP eAcademy). The main aim of the e-Academy will be to initiate, coordinate, and implement (in 16 partner countries covered by the NATO DEEP) system solutions that are resulting from the new realm of the learning ecosystem (NLE – New Learning Ecosystem). It is also about the familiarization and practical use of innovative tools and e-learning functionalities, such as VR/AR technologies. The activities of the NATO DEEP eAcademy will be based on two platforms: (1) NATO DEEP ADL Portal, (2) NATO DEEP BigBlueButton Videoconferencing Portal.
Under the NATO DEEP eAcademy aegis, e-learning studies, certified courses, pieces of training, and workshops will be conducted. The scope also includes research projects, specialist internships, and international conferences, e.g. in the Clearing House format. As part of the popularization activities “Agora” will be launched as a forum for guest lectures delivered, among others, by former NATO strategic-level commanders. The activities of the current stage are coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Piotr Gawliczek, Ph.D. as the Representative for Establishing the NATO DEEP eAcademy

The entity will be launched in mid-2021, and the symbolic moment of the inauguration will be the delivery of certificates of completion of the postgraduate studies “E-teacher and E-instructor within a New Learning Environment caused by COVID-19”. These studies have been running since October’31 2020. The inauguration lecture was delivered by the NATO DEEP Coordinator – see picture.
