Defence educators and instructors are now able to benefit from a new online course titled “Introduction to Bloom’s Taxonomy”. This results from a collaboration between the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) and education specialists from the PfPC – Advanced Distributed Learning Working Group and Education Development Working Group. This self-paced course is hosted on the NATO DEEP ADL Portal and is accessible to registered users. Upon completion, a digital badge will be generated and added to the designated area of the e-Backpack (see screenshot). Key features of the course include:

It explores the six levels of cognitive learning: (1) Knowledge, (2) Comprehension, (3) Application, (4) Analysis, (5) Synthesis, (6) Evaluation. Additionally, it offers practical guidance on applying these principles across various educational contexts. The combined expertise ensures that the course content is academically rigorous and applicable, making it a valuable resource for defence educators looking to improve their instructional methodologies.
