The workshop concerning the issues related to the Computer Adaptive Language Testing (CALT) project was organized in accordance with the last improvements. Five-day event was conducted at the beginning of March, gathering the participants from NATO DEEP eAcademy and NDUU in Kyiv. The respective points were discussed, and related solutions were submitted. The key objective was to discuss several issues that arose during the improvement of previous CALT Releases. During the meeting, the main capabilities of the software product and the current state of project development were briefly recalled. Changes in the concept of task classification are discussed. The changes are demonstrated, and the current difficulties of further development are identified. Considered suggestions, caveats and new ideas for solving existing problems.
Ways of further cooperation and coordination of efforts have been identified. It was agreed to work out the issue of the possible use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the process of creating new items. The task is to define the requirements and criteria for the division of tasks for artificial intelligence programmes. In subsequent meetings, discuss the results and ideas for speeding up the process of creating new tasks. It was agreed to involve partners from DEEP eAcademy in the process of creating new tasks, as well as initiating collaboration between language centres from the Alliance and NATO DEEP Partner countries. Apart from NATO DEEP eAcademy and NDUU in Kyiv, as the co-leaders, the SMEs from three institutions are also currently involved, focusing on AI aspects: Polish Association for Security, Elk Campus Branch of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, WSB University in Dabrowa Gornicza. More institutions will join soon.
