NATO DEEP continues the efforts aiming to introduce the holistic approach, as far as the specificity of the virtual reality environment is concerned. The latest example is the workshop gathering participants from Ukraine, Norway, and NATO DEEP. During the presentations, discussions, and hands-on sessions, held between 6-9 February in Hamar (Norway), the representatives from the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky (NDUU), Norwegian Defence University College (NDUC), NATO DEEP eAcademy and Norwegian IT companies (i.e. Fynd) jointly focused on the possible areas of cooperation while identifying the shortcuts and synergies possible.
The participants were familiarised with the current solutions and demands of the Ukraine side in this regard. They were also briefed on the NATO DEEP eAcademy’s current initiatives regarding XR and AI realm, i.e. as the dedicated subject of the e-Instructor Certification Programme. Also, the utility of the VR ADL course “Protection of civilians” (being currently developed by the NDUC) was discussed in the context of the educational needs of the UKR side and other NATO DEEP Partner countries. The goals of the event were fully achieved, the areas of cooperation were specified and the roadmap agreed upon, also involving the research projects.
