NATO DEEP eAcademy participants attended I/ITSEC 2025. This is the world’s largest and most influential conference dedicated to modelling, simulation, and training (MS&T). Held annually in November/December in Orlando, Florida, I/ITSEC brings together global leaders from defence, industry, academia, and partner nations to explore the technologies and concepts shaping the future of military training and readiness. This year’s conference offered a rich programme of presentations, demonstrations, and discussions showcasing the rapid evolution of training technologies. The NATO DEEP eAcademy delegation attended numerous briefings and expert sessions, gaining valuable insights into emerging trends, including advanced simulation environments, data-driven training solutions, and the growing role of adaptive and immersive learning systems. A highlight of the event was a tutorial session in which the eAcademy shared its experience with the development and integration of AI assistants in digital education environments. This included an overview of the JEAN AI Assistant, the first AI-enabled support tool introduced within the DEEP eAcademy to enhance participant learning, streamline communication, and assist instructors across several training processes. The presentation generated strong interest among attendees, reflecting the increasing relevance of AI-enabled tools in modern training ecosystems.

The exhibition floor once again demonstrated why I/ITSEC is considered the premier global venue for innovation in training and simulation. The delegation had the opportunity to explore a wide range of cutting-edge solutions, including advanced AI-driven applications, next-generation VR platforms, realistic synthetic environments, and integrated training systems designed to improve operational preparedness. Participation in I/ITSEC 2025 allowed the NATO DEEP eAcademy to strengthen its international engagement, build new connections, and gather insights that will help guide future development of digital training capabilities within the DEEP community. The event reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and innovation in enhancing professional military education and preparing armed forces for complex, multi-domain challenges.
