As part of the ongoing Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) capacity-building process, a team from the NATO DEEP eAcademy conducted a technical workshop, 11-15 June in Lidzbark Warminski/Poland, with representatives from NATO DEEP Tunisia. Over five days, attendees engaged in practical exercises covering the full deployment cycle of ILIAS, including server setup and system synchronisation. The aim was to ensure participants could replicate the respective infrastructure in their institutions, enabling them to host and manage the LMS independently with enhanced performance and reliability. The sessions focused on deploying a high-availability multiserver infrastructure tailored for the ILIAS learning management system (LMS). This workshop provided participants with a deep dive into scalable and resilient architecture models. It included comprehensive, hands-on training on configuring multiple servers to ensure effective load balancing, data redundancy, and platform stability—critical for supporting a modern digital learning environment.
