On February 25, on the day of the inauguration of the 4th Edition of the e-Instructor Certification Programme, the testing of a new functionality on our website – a chatbot that uses AI technology to answer users’ questions – began.
As part of extending the functionality of the DEEP eAcademy, the website was linked to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine. The first step was to launch a chatbot (ChatGPT). A Chatbot is an AI-powered software that can perform tasks without the support of a human. The screenshot below this article shows the chatbot’s answers to three questions, related to distance learning.
As the experience shows, there are many possibilities to use the AI engine in the education process of the DEEP eAcademy – to create materials, presentations, posts, and articles. In the next step, the engine will be linked to the knowledge gathered on the platform so that ChatGPT accurately answers all questions related to the essence of the education process at DEEP eAcademy. In the next step, the engine will be even more integrated with LMS ILIAS so that the chatbot becomes an integral element of the courses available on the platform – as a virtual assistant/trainer.
