On 22-23 September 2026, the Moodle & AI for Education: Basic AI Applications and Digital Learning Workflows workshop was conducted in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, followed on 24 September by the Moodle & AI for Education Workshop: Advanced AI Applications and Digital Learning Workflows. In total, the workshops brought together and trained 79 participants.
The workshops focused on strengthening the digital and ADL competencies of academic teachers, with emphasis on the practical use of Moodle, Artificial Intelligence, and digital tools in education. Participants explored how AI-supported solutions can be integrated into educational workflows, including the preparation and adaptation of learning materials, content development, and the organisation of digital learning spaces.
The Basic workshop introduced participants to practical applications of AI in education and demonstrated how it can support everyday teaching activities. The Advanced workshop built on this foundation, focusing on more complex applications of AI. Participants had the opportunity to explore how AI tools can support the systematic design, development, and enhancement of educational content and activities.
The in-person workshops were complemented by an online course on “Content Creation”, delivered through both asynchronous and synchronous activities. The course aimed to build and strengthen the ADL capacities of academic teachers in Mongolia, particularly in developing educational content and using digital tools and methods to support the teaching and learning process.
Together, the activities provided participants with both practical experience and a broader understanding of how Moodle, AI-enabled solutions, and contemporary digital learning approaches can be effectively incorporated into academic education.
